If you're looking for truly genuine "western" excitement that's guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat, you must experience the Rooftop Rodeo! We're not talking just any rodeo, it's America's Best Small Rodeo. Yes, that's right. For three straight years in a row and five out of the last eight years, Estes Park's Rooftop Rodeo was awarded this prestigious honor by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) in 2010. With 400 other rodeos vying for this recognition in the small rodeo category, this is quite an accomplishment!
The 2011 Rooftop Rodeo (RTR) kicks off the week with a colorful parade on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in beautiful downtown Estes Park. There are six exciting PRCA Rodeo performances at 7:30 p.m. each evening, beginning Tuesday, July 12th and continuing through Sunday, July 17th at The Fairgrounds at Stanley Park.
PRCA sanctioned events include saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. To really get the insiders view of the rodeo, sign up for the "Behind the Chutes" tour. On this tour you will meet the Rooftop Rodeo Queen, hear from the rodeo announcer, the rodeo contractors, and possibly several cowboy athletes. You will also get up close and personal with the animal athletes. No mechanical bulls here!
For more information on the Rooftop Rodeo, contact The Fairgrounds at Stanley Park (970-586-6104) and check out the Rooftop Rodeo Official website at www.rooftoprodeo.com

From fine-art photography and paintings to one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry to that “Estes” t-shirt for the ride back home, the shops in Estes Park have something for everyone. Downtown Estes Park offers the luxury of strolling along the beautiful Riverwalk that meanders through town as well as landscaped streets with plenty of benches, scenery, sculpture and ambiance. The village shopping experience is more than just downtown. Unique plazas lie to the east of downtown on Highway 34, to the south on Highway 7, and on Moraine Avenue and Fall River Road on your way to Rocky Mountain National Park. In addition to strolling on foot, the Town has added free Visitor Shuttle buses conveniently departing from the Visitors Center with frequent stops throughout Estes. For a complete detail of stops, see the map on the fold-out section.
