Estes Park Memorial Observatory

The Estes Park Memorial Observatory (EPMO) opened in April 2009. It was planned as a memorial to two (of three) children of Michael and Carole Connolly who were tragically killed in an accident. The Angels Above Foundation was created by Michael and Carole Connolly and their daughter Michele Johnson to build and manage the observatory. The EPMO is located north of the Estes Park High School on land donated by the Estes Park School District. The main 16’ dome of the observatory contains a Meade 12” telescope that is computer controlled. The observatory has quite a few other telescopes that can be used on the grounds of the observatory. These telescopes were kindly donated mostly by local residents.

Weddings in Estes Park

Estes Park is a Great Place for that Perfect Mountain Wedding!

Say your vows in a place that matches the beauty and purity of your love for one another. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are the answer to finding the perfect place to say “I do.” There are many venues within the town of Estes Park - both indoor and outdoor - to have a ceremony and reception. Many couples enjoy the backdrop of Rocky Mountain National Park for the ceremony, thereafter treating their guests to a lavish gala or relaxed get-together in town. Though weddings are not allowed in the public facilities in the national park, there are numerous pristine outdoor areas available for parties up to 20, 35, or even 100, depending on the location. The national park requires a permit and written permission from the Chief Ranger’s Office, but park staff will work with you to find the right location for your ceremony as well as give you the guidelines for getting married in Rocky.
